Government Reinsurance

What are the implications of the agreement?

The agreement will be a supplement to your current credit insurance if you are selling to countries covered by the agreement. The agreement means that the risk will be shared between you, Atradius and EKF. It enables us to insure the best of the risks that we otherwise reject due to the economic crisis. Many buyers have become weaker financially, and we will see an ever increasing number of bankruptcies. EKF is prepared to take extraordinary risks, but not bad risks.

The agreement is part of our efforts to continue to offer our customers the best possible background for maintaining sales, even in times of economic crisis. We feel that this agreement is a good solution within the framework specified by the Danish government and the rapidly deteriorating market conditions.

Can you make use of the agreement?

The government agreement requires, that you you have received a rejection or a partial limit for an application on a buyer, where the buyer is resident in a country that is covered by the agreement. You must have received approval from EKF, which will only be granted subject to your signing and submitting to Atradius the EKF declaration of non-bribery, environment matters and Danish economic interest.

You must be aware that premium rates and retained risk are higher than our usual policies. Therefore, we recommend that you download the information on this page and read it carefully.
